Distinguished Gentleman


This fine looking gentleman had his picture stored in a flat box. It was a very old 16x20 and the canvas had deteriorated to the point of not being able to handle it without further damaging the original. I got a piece of glass the size of the picture and placed it in the box, on top of the image, to support the image. Then, I turned the whole thing upside down, and with the glass holding the picture safely in position, I place the glass/picture/box sandwich on the scanner.


I then scanned the picture through the glass that I had very carefully cleaned. Once in the computer I removed the tears and scratch marks, gave it a new background and color corrected it to a sepia color and printed out a 16x20. This is considered a very extensive restoration.
